Cross-Page Entity Continuity via Internal Links
When the same entity appears across multiple pages, internal links between those pages create continuity signals that help AI systems build a coherent entity model for the domain.
An entity that appears on 12 pages across a domain but is never explicitly linked between those pages exists in 12 isolated contexts for AI systems. Each page is treated as an independent mention of the entity. But an entity that appears on 12 pages and those pages are interlinked with descriptive anchor text — that entity exists in a coherent, interconnected knowledge cluster that AI systems can model accurately.
Why Disconnected Entity Mentions Fail
AI entity extraction happens at the chunk level. When an entity appears in a chunk, the AI notes the entity and its local context — but without links connecting that chunk to other pages discussing the same entity, the AI has no signal that these are related mentions. It may create multiple representations of the entity, one per page, rather than a single coherent entity model. Entity disambiguation suffers.
Link-Based Entity Continuity
Internal links between pages discussing the same entity create continuity signals in three ways: the anchor text names the entity consistently (reinforcing entity identity), the link relationship tells the AI that these pages share a topic (cluster membership signal), and the PageRank flow between the pages creates an authority hierarchy for the entity (which page is the primary reference, which are supporting).
◆For any entity that appears on more than three pages on your domain: identify the hub page (the most comprehensive, authoritative description of that entity) and ensure every supporting page links to the hub with the entity name in the anchor text. This creates a machine-readable entity authority hierarchy.
Entity Continuity in SiteNexis Scoring
The Entity Intelligence module tracks entity continuity as one of its four analysis dimensions. The cross-page entity continuity score measures: what proportion of the domain's primary entities have a link-connected cluster of pages describing them, versus entities that appear on multiple pages but are not connected by internal links. Low entity continuity is a significant contributor to low Entity Confidence Scores.
